Submit Your Paper for Consideration

SecTor is all about the substance — The content that matters to Canadian IT Security Professionals today.  Of course, we’ll have fun and celebrate having the world’s best in Toronto, but the key to SecTor’s success, and the primary objective of the Advisory Committee, is quality content and interesting presentations for attendees.

If we haven’t approached you, but you believe you have a significant discovery or new research that the security community would value, or enjoy hearing about, we invite you to create an account and submit your presentation topic for serious consideration.

SecTor attendees are a mix of security professionals and vendors, programmers, students, network administrators and IT executives. Preference will be given to speakers who can present new and innovative content to a broad audience. There will be little tolerance for commercial content within presentations. Attendees will be encouraged to quell any shameless marketing that is not immediately backed up with rationale for its inclusion.

Speaker Benefits:

The SecTor organizers know that the speakers are what really make the event, and so to that end, speakers typically receive:

  • Roundtrip flight to the conference*
  • Two nights hotel accommodation*
  • Ground transportation to/from Toronto airport*
  • Full conference pass and invitation to the SecTor Networking Reception and Party
  • Bragging rights of being a con speaker

*Please note: Travel and accommodation is not covered for speakers living within the greater Toronto area or those delivering SECurity FUNdamentals and Tools Track sessions. If you are the original author of the tool you are presenting in your Tools Track session, travel will be provided.

Please note that SecTor does not use CFP submitted information for marketing purposes, and does not share / use the information beyond the CFP process. We do share copies of the submissions with the advisory board to help facilitate the speaker selection process only. Our full privacy policy can be found at https://cfp.sector.ca/privacy-policy/.

1. Create an Account

In order to submit your CFP, you must first create an account. Ensure you fill out all required fields and save your credentials, they will be required to edit your profile in the future should you need to make changes.

2. Check Your Email

We will send you an email with instructions on how to activate your account. Click the link provided in the email to return here and continue your submission process.

3. Log in and Submit Your CFP

Log in to the site to submit or edit your abstract(s) and Speaker Biography.

Detailed instructions outlining the required content are available on the submission form upon logging in.
